It won't. I have access to it all through my actual security clearance. It won't be the first time in the last 2 years that I've looked at her records.
[Some part of him wants to make sure Starfleet remembers who she was too, since she is the most remarkable person in his life.]
Hopefully Intelligence doesn't make it too difficult.
[He is firmly of the opinion that Una can handle anything thrown at her.]
I'll be in my office. It's on the sixth floor of the Academy, 6209. I need to cancel my classes for the rest of the week. When they figure out what they want to do, they can tell us in Mojave.
[Then maybe he can convince her to tell him a little about where she's from, and they can get to know each other just a little.]
( she reaches across the table to hold his hand, glad of his reassurance, glad that even thrown into this world she has him )
That's going to be strange, getting used to you being at the Academy.
( that staying with him at either ranch isn't just a shore leave )
Though don't cancel too much. The more we do the more they'll question. Rank might not matter, a relationship between you two wouldn't have mattered, but I just want them gone quickly.
( and the less intelligence found interesting enough to examine the better. especially if they wanted to talk to him about what he knew, if they decided anything was a bit conspiracy )
[He squeezes her hand when he takes it, trying to provide some physical reassurance.]
I think I'm still getting used to it. I've been a captain in space for almost twenty years, but after Talos IV I didn't trust myself to sit in that chair. Rumor has it I'll be back out there in a few years. They're building a new flagship.
[It was a difficult decision to make, but it was one that had to be made.]
It's only Thursday, Tuesday/Thursday schedule this semester. The cadets'll be happy. I'll be back to torture them with lectures next week.
( even though she was telling him to really she was asking him to )
I can use the days to get my head around this place. And it's only three days, you'll be here the others.
( not that she's assuming that they wouldn't be leaving his bed but-- it's maybe a thought that's crossed her mind. she doesn't want to jump too impulsively with him but they both discussed it and whether it was taking it day by day or having one frantic day in his bed and then taking it steadier didn't matter to her. she'd be with him always.
but having those afternoons to herself, to read, to digest without him around would be nice. she could still do that with him here but some parts might be easier without another presence around )
I'll be alright, you don't have to worry. After all, you said I can handle Intelligence, I can handle three days without you.
( she squeezed his hand slightly, a small smile on her )
Besides, whatever my life ends up being I'll need to be used to you being gone those three days.
( whatever intelligence said she wasn't shipping out immediately, though she also doubted they'd want her to since she was supposed to be dead the last two years. she saw a lot of psych in her future )
I only have two classes on each day. Wednesday I have a few meetings, otherwise I'm free. I could meet you for lunch, if they let you out.
[He doesn't want her to feel alone during all of this. Marcus could be a hard-ass, and he figured she might need a break even if she could handle herself.]
[He'll even make sure he doesn't walk her across campus in daylight if that makes her feel better, at least until they get all this figured out.]
They're going to come up with some kind of story. Hopefully, it won't be too difficult to remember.
[They were in this together now. She might've been holding on to her Illyrian Secret by herself for all this time, but this one is on the both of them.]
( any more and she might feel like a dirty little secret. even if una's used to the secret part.
but she smiles, touched. and knows that he's right: there'll be a story, especially since they can't talk about other universes publically. at least it'll cover her not wanting to talk about the last two years of her non-existent experiences, right? )
Thank you.
( now let her eat her pancakes, sir )
Was there anything strange you remember in her medical information?
( anything doctors would certainly pick up on if una didn't have said thing )
She broke her arm during the weeks at my ranch. Got thrown off a horse. It healed fine but there was a faint scar. It's been long enough that it could have faded.
[His never did even though it happened over 40 years ago., but then he wasn't an Illyrian. Then he reaches over for a PADD to pull up Una's records and hands it over.]
( there's a small frown at hearing about the scar, doubting it would have faded enough by this point but very few people get to see her arms, outside of him and medical it's a non-issue.
but then he slides the padd over and she reads it as she eats her pancakes, pausing after a couple of minutes )
It should be fine.
( sometimes her almost eidetic memory came in handy. she could remember these details, especially since there wasn't too much that was different )
Medical can quiz me all they like. What time did you tell them we'd be over?
Picadillo. You don't have to eat it but it already feels like it'll be the kind of day I need it.
( a day where she needs very hot to recover from the ridiculous stress of the day. aka starfleet intelligence. she's dealt with them before under very different circumstances but this time she couldn't sass her way out of it )
You don't make it right because you don't like spicy food.
( she'd tried to show her chris a couple of times whilst he'd been making it and even though he'd gotten it a little better it never came out like the replicated one. her cooking didn't even match up to it, though she wasn't as good of a cook anyway )

[He goes about pouring coffee for the both of them then eating.]
I think I can still get to her medical records, I'll check before we leave. I don't mind abusing my security clearance.
no subject
( quickly and smoothly. not that they yet knew how untrue that would be )

We can look at it. Though when Intelligence comes you can't be there.
( she knows he'd want to be but in the light of last night and not knowing enough about this place or their relationship-- )
I need to explain it to them myself. You weren't involved and they're easily suspicious without any additional reasons to be.

[He was planning to just let her relax and let them both figure out how to handle whatever Starfleet decides to do.]

( though she paused, thinking about it )
In your office though. Anywhere public I'll probably get a lot of questions, if it's anyone I didnt meet on my side?
( she had a lot to brush up on )
I need to keep my head down for a while. We'll see what happens after I see Intelligence but it's going to be a long road.

[And Starfleet has very big fans.]
If you need anything have someone find me.
no subject
The only thing I'll need is your office when they're done with me. And food.
( she sighs, pushing the padd a little away from her )
I might... request something tonight you won't be a fan of.
no subject
You have it. Even has a pretty decent couch for sleeping.
[And now that sounds ominous.]
What's that?
no subject
( a day where she needs very hot to recover from the ridiculous stress of the day. aka starfleet intelligence. she's dealt with them before under very different circumstances but this time she couldn't sass her way out of it )

She said I never made it right, had a favorite place. I'll pick some up.
[And she liked it so much he started eating it. His order was never quite as hot a Una's but it wasn't too bad.]
no subject
( she'd tried to show her chris a couple of times whilst he'd been making it and even though he'd gotten it a little better it never came out like the replicated one. her cooking didn't even match up to it, though she wasn't as good of a cook anyway )
I'll appreciate it later.
no subject
Didn't notice the hot sauce on the eggs?
[Sure enough, clear evidence of red sauce on his plate.]
But you're right, she said I never made it hot enough. I'll get some before I come home for the night.
no subject
( because why would she? it isn't something that she's used to )
Thank you. I just hoe it's as good as I remember after what today will be.
no subject
[It still wasn't her preferred habanero sauce, but it was something.]
I hope everything works out today and they don't put you through too much.
