You know, there's a few things we could have done at your ranch. For next time. ( she pauses, letting him think he'll have to ask but elaborating before he does )

A few outdoor places we didn't fully experience. ( she didn't want to fuck him under the stars (or day) whilst the horses were nearby. but if they hiked, camped and spent that time... she wouldn't even mind how open those locations were. his ranch and the trails were too far away for anyone to likely pass. and if they did... no one knew her, the other ranchers weren't starfleet )

The lake we didn't swim in. Next time we're leaving your bed more.

Not that I didn't enjoy all the time we spent in bed, but I would like to spend some time with you out of it.

No. I suppose I didn't have a reason to look forward to it before.

( and whilst nights like this would always be wonderful getting to wake up and spend time with him without being pulled to duty would be nice. she'd never stop being starfleet but she could now enjoy something new )

I like being busy but you give me a reason to slow down.

Slowing down has its perks. Up here we're always on duty or dealing with some crisis or another. It's nice to just take a break and enjoy being together.

( but especially the next time they had shore leave on a planet, especially earth. a visiting planet would be hard to spend time together (as a couple) but on earth they could retreat to his ranch, to go without being seen )

I might need pulling away from trying to catch up on everything.

Now that's just teasing me.

( she wished that were the case, though una knows she still has a little too much pain at times for that to be true even if she hid it. m'benga would be cautious and she couldn't fault him, she didn't want to be having to move carefully on duty even if she was restless )

But at least I'll have a few new things to think about while I'm still off duty.
