( the kiss makes her smile almost as if he'd been able to read her mind, cheering her slightly.

You sure you can't add another few days onto your time here?

( she knows he can't but she asks every time. and regardless of the answer their time would be well spent together )

I can't, but I'll be home in the evenings and the weekends. I might be able to convince Bartnett that I really should work from my office here on Fridays.

[He hopes that'll make it a little better. ]

That's a compromise I can work with.

( getting to spend any time with him, especially during the busiest season of cadet intake (it was always busy) was a blessing, though evenings and weekends were a bonus on the weeks they spent apart when he had to fly out )

I found somewhere on my hike today that I should show you, somewhere that'd be nice to sit... take some lunch.

Sounds like we have a plan for this weekend.

( she runs it over herself to take the worst of the water off, hanging it back up before finding his hand, leading him to their bedroom.

and stepping in she kisses him, walking backwards as they go, only breaking from him when they reach the bed. laying out on it she pulls pillows closer, getting comfortable to let him work )

[Pike keeps his towel around his waist for now, and follows Una into their room. Once she's settled, he starts on her shoulders.]
