[ She should have known Lilith would see right through that. Hilda wasn't worried - she was beside herself with happiness, and not just because Zelda was with Lilith. She's highly suspects Hilda is just happy she's found someone who she truly seems to care about.
And she does care about her. More than she's willing to admit. ]

[ Of course Zelda wants to be with Lilith. There isn't really anywhere else she'd rather be, but to voice that... She's already embarrassed herself enough for the evening, voiced a vulnerability that she should have kept to herself. Overthinking this is a sure way to destroy it, and Zelda resolves to be more careful with her words in the future. ]

[ She moves forward, towards Lilith and puts her hand on her cheek, her smile now more relaxed, her touch affectionate. ]
I'm just a bit tired is all. It's been quite a day.
( when she closes her eyes it's a protection, to hide the defensiveness she still feels, that slight ice within her. to protect herself from vulnerability. though she lets zelda near her, not pushing herself away she doesn't reciprocate that same affection.
and it comes to her that despite what they'd discussed-- she doesn't know what this is, what to do. lilith had fought for so long for something that hadn't existed that she doesn't want the same thing to happen here, doesn't want to be wounded again even if she wants to believe that zelda would never do that.
but hadn't that been what she'd once thought of lucifer, that he'd never hurt her as adam had?
when her eyes open again she's fighting herself to keep her expression neutral, to not let that doubt or vulnerability she's feeling be evident on her )
Then I will allow you to rest.
( and work to clear her own head again. lilith gives her a nod before stepping back from her )
It was-- enchanting.
( a wonderful evening all around, the celebration, seeing zelda so happy-- there's a tiny flicker of a smile, one she tries to hold before teleporting herself back to hell )
