[ Because the rest of the crew have their own families they're off to visit, and Bones is always the one Jim ends up spending more time with during shore leave. Even then, it's only on occasion. Spock shows up for some fun stuff with them too, but he's busy patching things up with Uhura now so Jim's got a feeling he won't see much of him for the next couple weeks. ]
I would like that. Just hope I'm not fighting off competition either.
( honest rather than anything else. she did have friends, though they were fewer and people that una kept closer to her. other contacts and some friendlier people... well, she wouldn't share with them what she was sharing with him )

[ Well, she does have the crew, but Jim knows what she means, so he doesn't argue that. Her last words do get a smile from him, and he reaches out to rest a hand near her wrist. ]

[ He smiles and shoots her a wink, giving her arm a gentle squeeze before disappearing for a little while. He comes back with a few folded blankets and a couple of pillows for added comfort, then finds a nice spot with a clear view of the night sky to stretch out the blankets across the floor. ]
( she'd slid her shoes off whilst he'd gone, unzipping her dress and laying it over the chair, leaving her just in her underwear. it wasn't impatience, not really, just getting them a little bit of a head start. they'd have a long enough night ahead of them as it was.
he's barely laid the last of the blankets out when she pulls him back to her, kissing him quickly )
[ He laughs as he's pulled closer, hands on her sides as he lets himself be pulled closer easily, leaning in to get as much out of that kiss as he can. ]
I am never going to complain about you having less clothes on.
[ Really, she could've just undressed completely, he'd have liked it even more. But this is a very good start. ]
Should I play catch up? I am feeling a little overdressed, now.
( she kisses him again before pulling back, laying out on the blanket, a raised eyebrow. he could join her or give her something enjoyable to see as he stripped. she wouldn't mind watching that... or stripping him herself )
[ He grins against her lips, eyes closed, one hand roaming down her back, drawing along the curve of her waist and hip, playing with the hem of her panties. ]
Maybe I will. Not in a rush either, we can... take our time.
( to the idea anyway. she'd assumed at his invitation that it would be a long night, that she'd probably stay over and was glad that her thoughts had been right. though whilst that's certainly where she wants to go she lifts his hand away, a soft laugh )
