In the summer, it was a lot of different things, but in the winter? It was snow. Snowball fights, snow angels... tried to build a snowman or two. Once or twice.
And you know what? You're never too old for any of it.

but she's learned when luke is determined and as much as quill may hate being cold she's also not about to spoil his fun. he'll just gave to find a way to warm her back up after )

her hand finds his, light nudge into his side to get him to lead them on. she already has three ideas for what he can do and that will no doubt grow.
once they make it outside, having found her shoes and coat along the way, her steps are slower, a little more reluctant but also hanging back to simply watch him )

but she wasn't always a soldier. sure her childhood was very different to a human's, a lot more fighting in it-- she's also very protective of it. she's used to details about her species habits causing disgust or the wrong kind of questions which keeps her a little more tight lipped )
( she slips her hand into his, taking the few steps towards him, snow crunching under her feet. for as much as quill doesn't like the cold the sound of crunching snow is pretty pleasant )

Well, first we gotta get down here and start rolling the a big ball for the base of it.
[He has to let go of her hand to demonstrate this part, bending over to start forming the ball. He does appreciate her going along with this. Can't be easy to have to deal with something entirely new to you.]
( she doesn't join him immediately, watching for a moment as he rolls the snow before crouching. it's certainly one of the stranger activities that she's engaged in since coming to earth, something she probably would never have attempted had he not dragged her into this.
and then her hand dips into the snow, intending to make a small ball of her own but pausing at the feel of it. it's cold, she'd expected that much, but-- smooth, firm, crumbly all at the same time. she scrunches her hand in the snow, finding it sticks together remarkably well, more solid than she'd expected but still crumbling apart when her thumb brushes over it.
it's distracted her from what she was supposed to be doing, grasping another handful of the snow and doing a similar thing, pure wonder in her expression )
[He pauses what he's doing to give Quill a curious look when she doesn't seem to be joining in... and then he just pauses to watch her a minute. The wonder that comes to her face, the way she plays with the snow.
Seeing her experience it for the first time was worth the cold and all the convincing her to come out with him.]

It-- ( god, how did she explain her people? ) We fought a lot. Tried to make each other stronger.
